“Travelers are looking for convenient, flexible ways to see more this summer without breaking the bank, and Flix is helping make that happen,” said Karina Frayter, head of communications at Flix North America. “Whether it’s visiting family, exploring a new city, or checking out a bucket-list destination, we’re seeing strong interest across our growing network. It’s a great reminder that adventure doesn’t have to be expensive.”

More Travelers Are Choosing Shorter, Budget-Friendly Trips

The search trends reflect a broader shift in consumer behavior as travelers seek to balance exploration with economic realities. According to Deloitte’s 2025 summer travel survey, 53% of U.S. consumers plan to take a vacation this season – up from 48% last year – even as financial concerns persist. Rather than cancel plans, many are adjusting them: opting for shorter, more frequent trips, staying closer to home, and choosing budget-friendly transportation options like car and bus travel.

This pivot toward practical, cost-conscious travel is reflected in Flix’s top searches, which are dominated by major cities and regional hubs connected by intercity bus routes. The findings suggest travelers are looking to stretch their dollars without sacrificing the chance to get away.

Flix is seeing increased ridership across key summer corridors, including routes connecting major metros like New York, Boston, Toronto, and Chicago. For travelers without a car, or those simply looking to avoid the high price and hassle of driving or flying, bus travel is emerging as a more convenient and cost-effective option. Flix also provides modern onboard amenities like free Wi-Fi, power outlets, seat reservations, and real-time trip updates, making it easier than ever to travel comfortably and stay connected along the way.

By continuing to expand service throughout North America, Flix is helping more people reach top destinations with fewer barriers and more options for planning trips on their own terms.
